Aubin Dush ~ Photog of the Month

I met Aubin through a few international Facebook photography groups and was instantly taken by his photography. For my NYC friends, the NYC subway is ubiquitous in our lives and in our photography. Aubin's images bring me to another city, Paris. Aubin captures the souls, the loneliness, the everyday lives of Parisians.

Aubin says, "I came to Paris five years ago, when I was 32. I discovered a visual and social universe, extremly rich and various which spurred my photographer's vision. In a new approach to the human being, without esthetical standards of contemporary photography, I decided to use the simplest of tools to take pictures. With my iPhone 4, I shoot women and men all around me, to show the tree of life. In the subway, in the street, on the beach, public places, here I go...

These locales become my playground, my favorite work places. Touched by the thirty years living in the country, with space all around me - I decided to build briges between infinite horizons and inner horizons, between closeness and wideness, between crowd and loneliness.  In homage of Mickael Ackerman, Sally Mann or Massimo Vitali, I impart from them an original pictural creation
and, I hope, a simplicity, trying to touch the essential of the translations of the soul."

Wow!
